Those with some yoga experience and experience working with children.
For those that are interested in becoming a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, the Radiant Child Family Yoga training will allow you to specialize in children’s yoga, and be able to teach family yoga as well.

After we receive your completed application along with the fee, telephone interview with Shakta will be scheduled to make sure the student and the program is a good match.
Step 1: RCY Basic Training levels 1-3
Credit Hours: 30
- All students, whether in the 95 or 200 program, are required to take the RCY Basic level 1-3 Training at any time and location before moving into the certification phase.
- The 30 hour RCY Basic training counts towards the 95 and 200-hour training.

Step 2: RCFY 200-Hour Retreat 2014
Aug. 5 to Aug. 16, 2014
Topics covered in training are:
Yoga Energetics and Anatomy: Experts in both Hatha and Kundalini yoga will teach physical anatomy, including modifications for specific needs; and energetic anatomy, including the study of the chakra system. In-depth study of Yoga–history, branches, philosophy–based on Shakta’s book, KISS Guide to Yoga will give the foundation of yoga.
The Brain and Yoga: Yoga study for understanding the connection between the brain and body, using Brain Gym and Kundalini Yoga. Special focus on Autism and other SPD issues, as well as help for depression, anxiety, insomnia and other similar topics.
Boys to Men, Girls to Women: AAppreciation and understanding of the energies of each gender, including section on relationships and conscious communication. Yoga specific to men’s health and specific to women’s life-cycles will also be covered. Special spotlight on Senior Yoga.
Yogic Lifestyle for Youth and Adults: Maintaining your yoga experience and healthy lifestyle after the training, including eating well, sadhana practice, and mindful living. A second topic is the business of yoga. We will cover everything needed for completion of the certification.
The section above completes 105-hours of the RCFY 200-hour Summer Retreat.
Step 3: Speciality Modules: 40 Hours
Speciality Module: Yoga for ADHD, Autism and Differently-Abled Kids
Learn how to reach the hearts and minds of these amazing children using your creativity, intuition, and excellent therapeutic tools. Through lecture, discussion, and experiential practice, you will learn how to apply:
- Breath…. to enhance self-regulation, modulation and emotional balance.
- Movement…. to improve motor planning, balance, coordination, strength and flexibility.
- Meditation / Relaxation….. to decrease stress and promote a calm, relaxed body and centered mind.
Speciality Module: Happily Ever Now
Do you realize that you ARE the yoga that you bring to the children…and ALL that you do?
Navigate into Happiness… using tools that can change your life—simple ways to change your attitude and outlook, and effective ways to work with core stressors and patterns.
- Breath, movement, stillness, chanting, and dancing in the Kundalini Yoga style.
- Contemplation and journal processes from Ask and It Is Given, by Esther & Jerry Hicks (recommended resource)
- Creation of a safe space to share insights, dreams, and challenges.
The section above completes 40-hours of the RCFY-200 Retreat.
Step 4: Radiant Child At-Home Mentorship Program
Credit Hours: 25
- All students are required to finish their training with an at-home internship with a Radiant Child Yoga Trainer.
- Mentor will be assigned to each student and can be in a different city from the student.
Radiant Child Yoga Mentoring Program for 95/200 Teacher Training
Once you have completed your in-class portion of your training program, you will be assigned to a Radiant Child Yoga facilitator who will guide and mentor you in this phase of your certification.
Observe 2 children’s yoga classes, preferably with Radiant Child Yoga teachers. Complete the RCY Observation form and return it to your mentor. Your mentor may be able to help you set up the observations.
This counts for 4 credit hours.
Co-teach 1 class preferably with Radiant Child Yoga teacher. Write a one- page summary of your experience, given to your mentor.
This counts for 4 credit hours.
Submit 3 Videos of you teaching different ages of children:
1. Between ages 3-6
2. Between ages 6-9
3. Between ages 10-13
4. Teens or toddlers
Your age groups do not have to exactly match those stated above. The idea is just to have a variety of experiences with children’s yoga. You will complete a RCY Observation form for each video. You will submit your video and your form to your RCY mentor, either through postal mail or online (ex. Yousendit.com) You and your mentor will have a half-hour consult for each video via phone or Skype.

Total: 12 hours
4. Mentoring with Shakta
Submit 3 Videos of you teaching different ages of children:
- 1. As part of your RCY 1-3 training and either the 95/200 training, you viewed Shakta teaching on video, followed by discussion. This part of your training counts as a class observation. 3-6
- 2. As part of your RCY 1-3 training and either the 95/200 training, you are required to submit a lesson plan and summary of one of your teaching experiences. This should be a different teaching experience from either point 2 or 3 above. 6-9
- 3. Within 8 months after the completion of your mentorship, a one-hour group conference call with Shakta will be announced. Students will have a choice of two dates to participate in the mandatory conference call with Shakta. 10-13

Credit hours for practicum: 3 hours
Credit hours for conference call: 1 hour

Step 5: Open Book Exam:
A take-home exam will be given at the completion of all of the above sessions. The exam will be due within 40 days of completion of the in-class sessions.

Once completed, the status of RYT-200 is awarded through Yoga Alliance.
Considerations and Policies:
Refund deadline: April 30, 2014.
$75 admin fee applies to all refunds and credits.
No refund will be issued after the deadline. Instead, payment will be applied as credit toward a training course in the future.
Students are encouraged to make it a priority to attend all course sessions in the order that they are presented. However, if a student has to miss a session due to unavoidable circumstances, he or she may make up that session the next time it is offered. There will be a $50 administration fee added to the price of the course. It will be the responsibility of the student to make all efforts to follow through in making up missed classes. No monies will be returned for the incompletion of the program with the unlikely exception of termination of program by trainer.
Qualifying RCY level 1-3:
All RCY Basic courses attended from 2009 onwards, taken with Shakta qualify for 95-hour and 200-hour pre-requisite.
If RCY Basic course was attended before 2009, or if the student attended the RCY Basic course with the RCY Facilitator proir to entering the certification program, the student may be required to audit a RCY Basic course with Shakta at no charge (course material fee may apply). Course certificate may be required for proof of attendance.
Open Book Exam:
A take-home exam will be given at the completion of all of the above sessions. The exam will be reviewed during course time, as well as sent via email, and will be due within 40 days of completion of the in-class sessions.
Code of conduct:
While Shakta Khalsa and the trainers of Radiant Child Yoga are dedicated to working with and supporting the students, they reserve the right to delay or deny certification to those who exhibit character or behavior that is deemed to be unethical and/or not in alignment with the program.

His many years of experience as national sales manager for Yogi Tea have given him expert ability to teach business management skills for yoga teachers.

Fezia Tyebally is a Radiant Child® Yoga Facilitator, a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, a licensed practitioner in Yoga for the Special Child™, and is a certified Yoga therapist at the 500 level. Fezia’s passion is children with special needs, and she has taught extensively in Southeast as a RCY Trainer, as well as a special program that she has created for adapting children’s yoga for the differently-abled child; ranging from Cerebral Palsy to Autism.
Fezia Tyebally: Is one of the core Kundalini Yoga trainers, teaches Senior Yoga, and specializes in Yoga for ADHD/Autism/Differently-Abled
Chong Hang Li
Choong Hang Li, a Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainer with iSKY and Yoga Alliance is also a Hatha yoga teacher, and Prenatal Yoga Teacher. She been teaching yoga in Europe and Asia for the past 10 years. Under the close guidance of Guru Dharam Singh at iSKY, Karta Singh at Amrit Nam Sarovar School in France, her journey with yoga has allowed her to enter into an intensive journey of self-growth and realization.

Tina Maladi, owner of Kid’s Yoga Jakarta, has been a children ‘s yoga instructor for many years, specializing with children on the autism spectrum. Tina is also a Pre & Post Natal yoga teacher. In 2012, she launched the Kids Yoga Cards in Bahasa, Indonesia to promote the benefits of yoga to Indonesian children. Tina also offers business and internet marketing consultations for children’s yoga teachers .
