Dear Shakta,
Could you explain to me about the yoga poses and different things that you do with the children and how it can be effective for children with special needs; ie; crossing over the midline, tapping and stimulating the meridians etc.
Warmly,
Kimberly S.
Dear Kimberly,
This is a very big topic which cannot be fully addressed in this email, but I appreciate your interest. We cover much of this in the training course Radiant Child Yoga Program, levels 1-2. RCYP consists of Kundalini yoga exercises and poses, as well as Brain Gym (braingym.org) Basically crossing the midline, working with meridians of the body (which is a prime focus in Kundalini yoga as well as Brain Gym), and other movements done in RCYP help organize the nervous system and get the two hemispheres of the brain communicating. That is the short version. Check some of the articles I wrote on www.childrensyoga.com Especially helpful would be the one about Autism.
Best,
Shakta
